OVERVIEW:

TOA Architects commissioned OneFrame to design and manufacture a fully bespoke lighting feature for their boardroom — a solution that not only elevates the visual language of the space but also delivers critical acoustic and functional performance.

The brief called for a suspended ceiling element that would serve three distinct purposes: provide high-quality ambient lighting, integrate acoustic absorption to manage reverberation within the glazed space, and present as a refined architectural feature in keeping with the studio’s design ethos. The final solution was a series of custom-fabricated light panels, combining acoustic substrates with stretched textile membranes — seamlessly backlit using a low-glare, tuneable LED lighting system. The lighting operates via a wall-mounted dimmer control, allowing the environment to be adjusted for presentations, collaborative work, or ambient settings.

The frames were precision-engineered to deliver consistent light diffusion across the surface while maintaining optimal NRC performance. The suspended assembly floats above the central boardroom table, creating a visual focal point while discreetly controlling both light and sound.

By unifying acoustic treatment and lighting into a single, architecturally resolved system, OneFrame delivered a solution that balances form, function, and flexibility — enhancing both the usability and sensory quality of the space.
