T.J.McNamara, art critic for the NZ Herald, says of Sally's work: “The sense of order and symmetry and of an obscure magic is one of the elements that shift these pieces from display into the realm of art”.
Sally's work often steps beyond traditional photographic techniques, exploring such materials as vinyl, perspex and glass to produce large scale sculptural pieces for outside installations.
Sally's work has featured at the Sydney Botanical Gardens, Auckland Botanic Gardens, the BrickBay Sculpture Trail, Connells Bay Sculpture Park and the Waikato National gallery.
She has produced several books and has completed large scale commissions in New Zealand and abroad.
