Developed by DuPont™ in the 1940s and commercially introduced in 1961, Tedlar® is a high-performance polyvinyl fluoride (PVF) material. For over 60 years, it has been widely used across various industries, including aerospace, construction, solar energy, outdoor advertising, and interior surface protection.
Tedlar® is available in thin, durable films that can be laminated onto different surfaces to form a protective barrier. Unlike other surface films, 100% PVF fluoropolymer films contain no plasticisers such as acrylics, eliminating risks of pinholes, cracks, and deterioration. This results in a dense, long-lasting protective layer that prevents fading, degradation, and external damage.
Tedlar® PVF surfaces are resistant to mould and mildew growth, making them ideal for hospitals, sterile rooms, kitchens, and patient areas where contamination control is essential. Rated 0-1 for mould resistance, Tedlar® is also free of formaldehyde and other volatile compounds.
