Roberta Queiroga Collection

I carry a bit of Brazil, Portugal, Japan and New Zealand in my heart and influences from those places and cultures are continuously shaping my identity and ultimately inform my work.

Becoming an artist was not a straightforward path. Over the years I became an architect, changed careers and there was a long artistic hiatus while I was experiencing life and absorbing my surroundings, creating my library of emotions to later express through my art.

The people I met, the cultures and countries I visited and lived in, the spatial understanding, the materiality and architectural aesthetics. Every little thing combined and stored in my heart has been a valuable asset to my journey.

I now work on a symbiosis, often with my hands directly onto the canvas, as a bridge to my heart, allowing for my emotion to spontaneously flow with a minimum interference.
